Sure, our murals are fun events, but they are also carefully planned, site-specific beautification projects!

LESS 'ME' / MORE 'WE'!​

7Train Murals creates artistic opportunities to re-build pride within our Queens and Manhattan neighborhoods

through strategic collaborations with local organizations and members of our community.

OUR MURALS HAVE 7 DISTINCT COMMUNITY BUILDING CHARACTERISTICS:

1) ​OUR MURALS ARE SITE-SPECIFIC DESIGNS - These are not random pages from a sketch book.  The mural location itself inspires a tailored concept.  ​

2) OUR MURALS ARE BEAUTIFYING THE 7TRAIN DAILY COMMUTE - Our mission is to beautify neighborhoods in and around the 7Train subway system in Queens and Manhattan. 

3) OUR MURALS ARE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Oil based aerosols are unhealthy for the environment and for our lungs.  We use water-based paints and reusable brushes.

4) OUR MURALS ARE LEGALLY MADE - We respect the property of others.  We work with landlords and tenants in securing permission for our works of art.

5) OUR MURALS ARE PAINTED 100% BY VOLUNTEERS - Not bad, eh?

6) OUR MURALS ARE MAINTAINED YEAR-ROUND - We repair any vandalized and weathered murals with the same original colors.

7) OUR MURALS ARE FUNDED BY GRANTS AND SPONSORSHIP - We research, write, and apply for grants to create these neighborhood artworks.​​​
